Product Comparison
Premier Oil Pump vs. Standard Oil Pump
Oil Changes
The new Premier Pump is designed to minimize the need for oil changes or filtration. With its gas ballast feature, the pump ensures water doesn't accumulate in the oil, keeping it clean and clear for up to 30 or more batches. Oil changes are typically only necessary after running 20 or more batches. In contrast, the Standard Vacuum Pump requires oil changes and filtration every 4 to 5 batches, especially when using the 3/8 inch vacuum hose. You should only use Robinair Premium High Vacuum Pump Oil or JB Industries Black Gold Vacuum Pump Oil in the Standard Pump, which can be purchased from Harvest Right, Amazon, or other retailers. Do not use Dairyland vacuum pump oil in the Premier pump.
Vacuum Pressure
The Premier Pump performs better than the Standard Pump under both hot and cold conditions. Under cold conditions, the Premier Pump achieves a vacuum of 0.05 Pascal, while the Standard Pump pulls 0.08 Pascal. In warmer environments, the difference is even more pronounced: the Premier Pump achieves 0.05 Pascal, while the Standard Pump pulls 2.05 Pascal. The Premier Pump is notably unaffected by heat, making it an ideal choice for warmer environments as it consistently pulls a deeper vacuum.
Noise
The Premier Pump operates at a quieter level than the Standard Pump, producing only 52 decibels, compared to the Standard Pump’s 64 decibels. At 52 decibels, the Premier Pump is as quiet as a refrigerator.
Oil Mist Filter
Both pumps are equipped with an oil mist filter, but the Premier Pump’s filter eliminates all oil spray, and it lasts longer than the Standard Pump’s filter.
Power Consumption
The Premier Pump is more energy-efficient, consuming only 187 watts, compared to the 218 watts used by the Standard Pump.
Amperage
Under hot conditions, the Standard Pump pulls 2.1 amps at ultimate vacuum pressure, while the Premier Pump only draws 1.7 amps, making it more efficient.
Weight
The Premier Pump is easier to handle as it weighs 5 pounds less than the Standard Pump, at 32 lbs. compared to 37 lbs.
Durability
The Premier Pump is built to last longer and is more durable than the Standard Pump.
