Refund policy

1. Overview
Off Grid Selection offers a 30-day return policy on most items. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may request a return within 30 days of delivery. Every return request is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

3. Return Eligibility
To be eligible for a return, items must be:

  • Returned within 30 days of delivery
  • Unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging with all manuals, hardware, and accessories included
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase (order number or receipt)

Returns are accepted for U.S. customers (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico).

4. Items That Cannot Be Returned
The following items are non-returnable. This list reflects manufacturer-set policies; if you have any questions, please contact us before purchasing:

  • All Survive-a-Storm tornado shelters (built to order by the manufacturer)
  • All Rambo and HappyRun Bikes (per Rambo and HappyRun's no-return policy)
  • Other custom-configured or made-to-order items
  • Gift cards and digital downloads
  • Items damaged by misuse, improper installation, or normal wear and tear

Brand-specific return policies may apply. Some manufacturers have additional restrictions beyond our standard policy.

5. How to Start a Return

  1. Email support@offgridselection.com or call +1 (734) 228-0441 within 30 days of delivery. Include your order number and reason for the return.
  2. Our team will review the request on a case-by-case basis and respond within one business day with the decision. If approved, we will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and provide return instructions, including the shipping address for the manufacturer or warehouse.
  3. Repackage the item securely in its original packaging with all included accessories.
  4. Ship the package within 7 days of receiving the RMA. Do not ship anything back without an RMA — unauthorized returns may be refused or held without refund.

6. Return Shipping Costs

  • Damaged on arrival, defective on delivery, or wrong item shipped by us: Off Grid Selection covers all return shipping costs. We will provide a prepaid return label at no cost to you.
  • Change of mind, no longer needed, ordered the wrong item, didn't fit your application, or any other reason not covered above: the customer is responsible for return shipping costs back to the manufacturer or warehouse. We do not provide a prepaid return label for these returns. We strongly recommend using a carrier with tracking and insurance. Damage caused during the return shipment is the customer's responsibility.

7. Refunds

  • Defective, damaged, or incorrect items: full refund with no restocking fee, including all original and return shipping costs.
  • Change-of-mind returns and other returns not covered above: refunded to the original payment method minus a 25% restocking fee. The restocking fee covers the cost of inspecting, repackaging, and re-listing the product for sale.
  • Refunds are processed within 5 business days after the returned item is received and inspected. The funds may take an additional 5–10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your payment provider.
  • All return requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We may, at our discretion, waive or reduce the restocking fee for unusual circumstances, approve partial refunds, offer store credit, or decline returns that do not meet the eligibility criteria.

8. Damaged or Defective Items

  • Freight shipments (storm shelters, golf carts, large e-bikes, large solar systems, oversized batteries, water features, and any other LTL freight delivery): if the shipment arrives visibly damaged, REFUSE THE DELIVERY. Tell the driver "refused — damaged" and write the same on the carrier's delivery receipt. Do not sign for the shipment. Email us within 24 hours of the refused delivery so we can arrange a replacement at no cost to you.
  • Parcel shipments (UPS, FedEx, USPS, and other small-package carriers): inspect your shipment upon opening. If anything appears damaged — including just the outer box — photograph the damage before unpacking further. Email photos, a description of the issue, and your order number to support@offgridselection.com within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or full refund at no cost to you.
  • Defective items discovered later: if a product develops a defect within the manufacturer's warranty period, contact us and we will coordinate the warranty claim with the manufacturer on your behalf.

9. Wrong Item Received
If we ship the wrong item, contact us immediately. We will arrange return of the incorrect item at no cost to you.

10. Order Cancellation

  • Before shipment: contact us as soon as possible to cancel for a full refund
  • After shipment: the order falls under our standard 30-day return policy

11. Order Never Arrived
If your order does not arrive within the estimated delivery window shown on your product page, contact us so we can investigate and resolve the issue.

12. Exchanges
Exchanges are available at no cost for defective, damaged, or incorrect items. For change-of-mind exchanges, please return the original item under the change-of-mind return rules above (customer pays return shipping; 25% restocking fee applies) and place a new order for the replacement item.

13. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under applicable law.
