Lifespan: The dome cover generally lasts 10 years or more, depending on UV exposure. When needed, replacement covers are easy to order and extend the life of your dome for another decade or longer. The steel frame itself is designed to last indefinitely, provided it isn’t exposed to excess moisture or salty environments.

Cleaning: Regular upkeep is simple. Use a sponge and mild soap, or a pressure washer for quick cleaning of dirt and algae. Chimney soot may require scrubbing with soap or diluted bleach. Windows can be safely cleaned with a non-abrasive sponge and standard glass cleaner. Interior liners are just as manageable—older pleather liners can be wiped with a damp cloth, while the new Oxford Fabric liner is made in sections that can be machine-washed.

Condensation: Because the cover is fully sealed, managing moisture inside is important. Installing an exhaust fan for kitchens or bathrooms is recommended, and solar fans are a great option for maintaining airflow year-round. A dehumidifier is especially helpful in colder months to prevent mold or mildew. Spraying anti-mold solution along the bottom edges of the liner—particularly behind furniture or appliances—also helps keep the space fresh.

Repairs: Minor holes or leaks are easily fixed using the included Vinyl Glue and patch kit. Extra patches are available if needed, so repairs can be made quickly without compromising the structure.

Panorama window disclaimer: The clear vinyl panorama window is UV resistant and won’t yellow, but slight wrinkles and unevenness are normal. Heat and sun may smooth them somewhat over time, but the view will always be slightly softened rather than perfectly clear. This is expected for vinyl material. Higher-end glass or polycarbonate window upgrades are being developed for customers who prefer a sharper view.

Zip-off window disclaimer: The panorama window can be partially or fully removed to increase airflow during warm weather. To protect the zipper from damage, avoid frequent use and always release the tension on the hooks below before opening or closing. It’s best to have one person hold the window while another works the zipper. Please note that damage caused by improper or excessive use of the zipper is not covered under warranty.
