Product Description

Silicone Chimney/Pipe Flashing

Seal and finish your dome with reliable flashing solutions.

Silicone flashing kits are designed to make it easy to add chimney or pipe outlets to your dome while keeping the structure weather-tight. Available as individual add-ons or bundled with any dome order, these kits are typically in stock and ship out immediately.

Chimney flashing (orange): Our high-temperature silicone chimney boots are built for double-wall insulated chimneys and come in two sizes. The 3–7" option is recommended for wood pellet or propane stoves and can be routed through either ceiling triangles or walls. The 6–12" option is best suited for small wood stoves. For larger wood stoves, we recommend the Phoenix Domes Metal Chimney Flashing Kit for extra durability.

Pipe flashing (grey): Designed for plumbing inputs and outputs, pipe flashing boots are often required as part of the permitting process in certain regions. The 0.25–5" size covers most standard uses, while the 5–9" option is intended for larger pipe installations. Always confirm requirements with your local building inspection agency if you plan to permit your dome.

What’s included: Each kit contains a silicone flashing boot, a PVC flashing cover color-matched to your dome, and HH-66 vinyl cement glue for secure installation. You’ll also need a tube of high-temperature RTV silicone (available at most hardware stores) to complete the setup.

Specifications: Two color options are available—orange for chimney flashings and grey for pipe flashings. Both options are designed for long-lasting performance in demanding conditions.

Shipping: Flashing kits are small accessories and typically ship via Canada Post or courier. Larger dome components ship by truck freight, and standard Phoenix Dome shipping disclaimers and policies apply.

Lifespan: The dome cover is designed to last around 10 years or more, depending on UV exposure. When the cover eventually needs replacing, it can be swapped out easily to extend the life of your dome for another decade or longer. The steel frame itself will last indefinitely, provided it is not exposed to excess moisture or salty air.

Cleaning: Regular cleaning keeps your dome looking fresh for years. A sponge with soap and water works well, or for quicker results, a pressure washer can remove debris and algae with ease. Chimney soot may leave grey streaks that require some scrubbing with soap or diluted bleach. Windows should be cleaned using a non-abrasive sponge and a standard glass cleaner. Interior liners are also easy to maintain—older pleather liners can be wiped down with a damp cloth, while the updated Oxford Fabric liner is made in sections that fit into most standard washing machines.

Condensation: Because the dome’s cover creates a sealed space, managing indoor moisture is essential to avoid mold or mildew. For domes with kitchens or bathrooms, we recommend installing an exhaust fan. Solar fans are also excellent for year-round airflow and temperature control. A dehumidifier is especially useful during colder months, and anti-mold sprays can be applied around the bottom edges of the liner, particularly behind furniture or appliances.

Repairs: If your dome develops a hole or leak, repairs are straightforward. Each dome comes with a patch kit and specialized Vinyl Glue for quick fixes. Additional patches are available if needed, ensuring your dome remains weather-tight.

Panorama window disclaimer: The clear vinyl panorama window is UV-resistant and won’t yellow, but may develop wrinkles or surface unevenness. Sun and heat can smooth these out somewhat, but not completely. Views through the window may appear slightly softened or blurred—this is normal for the material. For those seeking clearer visibility, higher-end glass or polycarbonate window options are in development.

Zip-off window disclaimer: The panorama window can be partially opened or fully removed to improve airflow in warm weather. However, frequent use can cause wear on the zipper. Always release tension from the hooks before operating, and it’s best to have one person hold the window while another works the zipper to avoid strain. Please note: zipper damage caused by improper or excessive use is not covered under warranty.
