Swisher ESP Safety Shelter – Wheelchair Accessible – 20-Person Residential / 12-Person Business Capacity

Product Description

The above-ground Swisher ESP Safety Shelter has been rigorously tested at the National Wind Institute at Texas Tech University. It successfully withstood nine impacts from 15 lb 2x4s traveling at 100 mph, simulating the force of an EF5 tornado with winds reaching 250 mph. The shelter meets or exceeds the requirements outlined by the National Storm Shelter Association (NSSA), FEMA 320, and ICC-500 standards.

Designed to provide the ultimate in multi-purpose protection and security, the Swisher ESP Safety Shelter is engineered to safeguard against both extreme weather and man-made threats. This shelter is not waterproof and is intended for above-ground installation only.

Each ESP Safety Shelter is fully compliant with NSSA standards and will meet or exceed FEMA P320/P361 and ICC-500 code requirements when installation is completed according to the provided guidelines. A step-by-step installation checklist is included with each unit.

Built in the USA, these shelters are designed by Registered Structural Engineers and undergo a rigorous Third-Party Review process to ensure reliability and safety. The shelter is designed to endure the most extreme tornado conditions and offers a "safe zone" for protection during home invasions, providing critical minutes for emergency responders to arrive.

FEMA P-361 - Near Absolute Protection Defined:A safe room built according to the most recent FEMA P-361 guidelines offers near-absolute protection. This means that individuals inside the room will have a very high likelihood of being protected from injury or death during extreme weather events, such as tornadoes or hurricanes.
