Autonomous WorkPod – Prefab Backyard Office

The Autonomous WorkPod is a prefabricated backyard office built to give you a quiet, dedicated workspace just steps from your home. With 102 sq ft of interior space, a sloped ceiling rising from 6.8' to 9.3', and a full-height tempered glass door, it keeps work separate from household distractions while filling the room with natural light. It's an ideal setup for remote work, video calls, focused study, trading and multi-monitor workstations, gaming, streaming, or a creative studio.

At 102 sq ft, the WorkPod is designed to fall below the permit threshold in most US cities, and it can be assembled in 1–2 days as a DIY project or with professional installation. Local building codes vary, so please confirm requirements with your municipality or HOA before ordering.

Insulated, Four-Season Construction

The WorkPod uses a structural timber frame with six insulated layers, combining plywood with a honeycomb core, durable metal exterior siding, and 5/16" tempered glass. This layered wall system provides thermal insulation and sound dampening, helping block outside noise for clearer calls and deeper focus. It is rated to withstand 60+ mph winds and melt snowfall of up to 1.5 inches per hour, and it offers a 45–100°F comfort range.

For hot climates, the WorkPod is compatible with a portable air conditioner (up to 22" L × 20" W × 88" H) or a mini-split system.

No Foundation Required

Instead of a poured slab, the WorkPod sits on six adjustable leveling feet with a leveling height range of 8.4"–12.9". It can be installed on ground with up to a 5° slope, with no slab, grading, or excavation required. The structure has a 2.9-ton load capacity.

Designed for Light & Focus

A full-height glass front door and three vertical side windows bring in natural light, with the side windows positioned to minimize glare on your screens. Windows can be configured on either the left or right side of the pod to suit your yard layout.

Built-In Power & Interior Features

The WorkPod comes ready to plug in and work. A single outdoor cable runs to your home, with wiring concealed inside the wall cavity and connected through a weatherproof outdoor outlet. A typical setup — two monitors, a laptop, lighting, and ventilation — draws only a few hundred watts.
